Who we are
MESA Restaurant & Bar ("MESA", "we", "us") is a restaurant and bar at 878 Tambon Ao Nang, Mueang Krabi District, Krabi 81180, Thailand. We decide how the personal data described here is used, and we are responsible for it.
This policy covers www.mesakrabi.com and follows Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (2019), the PDPA.
What we collect
- Table requests and messages. The request form and the Find Us message panel prepare a message in your browser from what you type — such as your name, party size, date, time and notes. It is not stored on our servers, and it reaches us only when you send it through WhatsApp.
- Cookies and similar technologies. If you accept, Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel store identifiers in your browser and record how you use the site. The table below lists them.
- Technical data. Our hosting provider, Vercel, processes the details every web request carries — such as IP address, browser type and the page requested — to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
The site takes no payments and has no accounts or logins.
Before you choose
Until you accept, Google's consent mode tells Google Analytics not to read or write cookies. The Google tag may still send Google a cookieless signal when a page loads — such as the page address, browser type and time — which Google uses to estimate overall traffic without identifying you.
The Meta Pixel does not load at all until you accept.
Why we use it, and on what basis
- Analytics — to learn which pages guests find useful and improve the site. Legal basis: your consent.
- Advertising — to measure our Google and Meta ads and to show MESA to people who have already visited. Legal basis: your consent.
- Table requests — to reply to you and arrange your visit. Legal basis: steps you ask us to take before a booking.
- Hosting and essential storage — to run the site securely and remember your choice. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in operating the website.
Third parties and transfers abroad
These companies provide the services described above. Google and Meta also use the data they receive under their own policies. Their processing can take place outside Thailand, including in the United States.
Changing your mind
- Select Cookie settings at the bottom of any page and choose again. Declining stops new analytics and advertising data being collected from that moment.
- Clear this site's cookies and site data in your browser to reset your choice completely.
- Stop Google Analytics on every website with Google's opt-out browser add-on.
- Review how Meta uses your activity for ads in your Facebook or Instagram ad preferences.
Withdrawing consent does not make processing that took place while you had consented unlawful.
Your rights under the PDPA
You can ask us to:
- give you access to, or a copy of, the personal data we hold about you
- correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date or incomplete
- delete, destroy or anonymise it
- restrict how we use it, or object to our using it
- send it to you, or to another organisation, in a commonly used format where the PDPA allows
You can withdraw consent at any time, and you can complain to the Office of the Personal Data Protection Committee if you believe we have mishandled your data.
We may need to confirm who you are before acting on a request, and we will respond within the time the PDPA allows.
How long we keep it
- Your cookie choice stays in your browser until you clear it, or until we change this policy and ask again.
- Google Analytics keeps event data for the retention period set in our account — no more than 14 months.
- WhatsApp conversations are kept only as long as we need them to deal with your request and for normal business records.
- Vercel keeps technical request logs for a short period for security and operations.
Children
This website is for adults planning a meal or a drink. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we update the date on this page. If a change affects what you agreed to, your cookie choice resets and we ask you again.
